PURE ONYX is an adult beat 'em up RPG for Windows PC.
The game is currently in development on SubscribeStar, but we're providing this alternative access to our test releases for those who may have issues subscribing.
Please be aware of the following!
- This purchase will not be updated monthly
- This is not early access for the final retail product
- New monthly releases will appear on our Itch profile as they become available
Changelog
- Added early version of Outskirts mission (background art is WIP), Recommended Lv. 5+
- Added new music for the Outskirts event mission.
- Added a special FemCop inflation/biomonster pregnancy background H scene
- Extended Ring Girl + Thug scene w/ new hair pull loops + finisher & liquid FX
- Added face animations / major animation improvements/ physics to FK/DK Futa/DK Doll + Splicer Thug Lift scene
- Major performance increase in gallery + significant one on maps with lots of characters from new mesh culling system
- Added basic framework for enemy variants
- Added Vioreaper Elite enemy
- Added Vioreaper Claws and Carapace Jacket equipment (stat bonuses only, no new visuals)
- Can no longer move around / get yourself into trouble before the mission loading screen starts transitioning out
- Holding the Interact key/button should no longer open the shop menu twice
- Gallery entry no longer disappears from Main Menu when adult content is disabled -- it now gives a warning to enable it (prevents confusion while still preventing "accidents").
- Added advanced character/prop shading system to match lighting requirements based on the current map
- Added backend framework for buff status effects / associated VFX
- Added Male Cop "Shock Baton" buff (doubles his damage + increases movement/animation speed) + attack FX
- Shops now close up while Onyx is in combat during standard missions. They currently remain open in the survival wave missions (will have better context animations later).
- New FK/DK Doll idle anims
- FemCop will be more aggressive with her Flip Kick and H attack usage now + avoid staying on the same Z-axis plane with Onyx more.
- FemCop's Flip Kicks and H attacks have proper range now (was too short previously, especially on depth axis)
- Increased Heavy Punch stamina cost from 0 to 25
- Increased Dodge stamina cost from 30 to 50
- Increased damage of the Bunnies' attacks (they were set very low)
- Brute will now spawn with less frequency during survival missions, but has guaranteed chance to spawn every so often at waves above 10
- 2x Brute has been added as a boss wave for survival missions
- Increased # of FemCops for her boss wave
- Swapped Charger and Wraxe boss waves (Wraxe now appears on Wave 10, Charger on 20)
- Added WIP FX for Bat Bunny's projectile attack (projectile however doesn't hit anything yet)
- Updated Lovense entry on main menu to give a context prompt instead of just yeeting player out to Lovense site
New Known Issues
- Characters engaged in H scenes or background scenes don't yet receive shadow grading changes from the new map material/lighting system (only applicable for Outskirts mission currently)
- Vioreaper Elite doesn't use H attacks yet.
- If an H struggle begins while Male Cop is electrifying his baton it may cause it to appear un-electrified after H struggle / scene ends, when in reality the FX just aren't showing.
- Male Cop's navigation may get bugged when performing his Dash & Attack ability, causing him to run around like a wacko.
- Male Cop will pause briefly at the end of turn animations while haste is active from his new buff ability.
- Wraxe may slide around a bit after turning from WalkForward to WalkBackwards animation
- Bat Bunny's projectile attack doesn't have a hurtbox yet (won't damage Onyx)

Can you add android version
It's something I'm interested in looking at after the PC version is complete. It'd require a lot of work -- would be like running Guilty Gear on a phone :D.

I’m wondering, when did you complete your project, there will be a game about a guy, a guy against girls
I would like to suggest 2 functions which will be great if added in the future.
1. Camera move while playing only during the scenes (Now only possible to move camera in the gallery)
2. Changing girls' clothes in the gallery mode.

Hey, do you mean voiced? We're not focusing on voices until we have more content complete -- will be better for logistics.

Love the gameplay, i dont find any bug, waiting for furures Updates, animations are AMAZING, nice job.
Hey, I'm not sure if it's an itch thing, but with the past few updates, after I purchase the game, I can never straight up download it. it always fails, after a day or so, it downloads fine. Any idea what's causing this?
I know that itch changed their content delivery service a few months ago and had some widespread hiccups that sounded similar, so I'm not sure if this is related. If anyone has experienced this let me know and I'll formulate a report to send to itch support :D.
So how to use 0.97 save in the new version
Right now gallery progress is persistent but character saves are version specific to help streamline the debugging process ^-^

When can we expect the new Labs stage boss to be implemented? The one that looks like a purple alien with spiky legs? Also, are there any plans to increase how much the camera can be zoomed in?
He won't be ready for a bit -- his sculpt has just been finished, so he still needs rigging / game engine materials and textures / animations / AI o.o
Regarding camera, we're planning on adding something called cinematic mode, which will enable you to toggle between game view and real-time 3D cameras
Charger H scenes WHEN?

The game start up pretty fast but when I try to select new game or the gallery it stays in the loading screen. The loading bar fills up and then it get's stuck in that window. The FPS and Framecounter continue to work though. Is that a problem on my end or does anyone else has the same problem?
Hey! We had someone else experience this issue but we weren't able to see their logs. Can you send us your log files located at
%USERPROFILE%\AppData\LocalLow\Eromancer\pure-onyx
Specifically the Player.log, Player-prev.log, and DebugLog.xml files. Also Settings.ini could help as well.
