PURE ONYX is an adult beat 'em up RPG for Windows PC.
The game is currently in development on SubscribeStar, but we're providing this alternative access to our test releases for those who may have issues subscribing.
Please be aware of the following!
- This purchase will not be updated monthly
- This is not early access for the final retail product
- New monthly releases will appear on our Itch profile as they become available
Changelog
- Added ambush and enemy spawn event system.
- Added Vioreaper ambush traps to Outskirts.
- Fixed FK-Doll's bare shoulders being scrunched into her body when Jacket is removed in Runt Handjob scene + during Idle animations
- Fixed FK-Doll's jacket collar clipping with her face throughout the Runt Handjob scene
- Fixed looping issue in Ring Girl + Thug finisher animation + fixed her boob anim in outro
- Vioreapers and Larva/Crawlers are no longer vulnerable to acid damage
- Added Loop Toggle functionality to animation gallery
- Pressing X (keyboard) / Y (XB) / Triangle (PS) by default now toggles Loop Mode during a scene in gallery
- Added FK-Doll + Runt Handjob scene to animation gallery
- Added Ghoul Shambler enemy + portrait. They will currently appear in survival wave missions.
- Added Acid Spit attack for Ghouls. Ghoul packs create pools of acid under them when aggro'd, making the area more dangerous over time.
- Added backend damage resistance system (currently for Fire and Acid). Ghouls are resistant to their own acid attacks.
- Ground fire (and similar damage) no longer randomly causes knockdown
- Ground fire (and similar damage) no longer causes knockdown while jumping
- Reduced sluggishness of Onyx beginning her walk animation and returning to idle animation
- Added Ring Girl disk portrait
- Updated Onyx's loot window and HP gauge portraits
- Added shader-based animated background FX system to Spider Caverns, Slums Street, and Slums Basement maps
- Fixed foreground FX clipping with the floor plane in Spider Caverns
- Fixed some masking issues with the loot window artwork
New Known Issues
- Had a case in which player reported Onyx froze during an attack animation. Let us know if you see this!
- In some cases Unity ignores resolution aspect ratio, which may lead to some visual and mechanical issues on extremely wide monitors.
- FemCop (and maybe other enemies) can get stuck when spawning on the Red-Light test mission, soft-locking the game

Hey :D. Did you purchase a previous month's test release? These are development builds that match our SubscribeStar campaign's rewards. The retail release will be one-time purchase.

Any chance of posting a mac build? Since this is built on Unity, it should be a simple settings change?
We'll likely make a Mac and Linux build for the retail release (and potentially sooner), but we're only doing Windows releases during this stage of development. There are differences between platforms, it's not quite as simple as a settings change :D.

Hi how many duration aprox. have the game?
I saw the preview on "X" and for this new update, will we have just that one or a few more of other characters?
Do you intend to launch a Mobile, Android version? I don't have a PC, so I play by emulating it on my cell phone. Do you intend to release a preview with some things in it?
How do the animations of the two bunny girls unlock in battle?
They don't quite yet -- we're actually considering turning that one into a game over scene now that we can do them since we are no longer on Patreon.

We've been in touch :D. If anyone else has a similar issue, make sure your folder path when running the game doesn't contain any illegal characters :D.
Is it possible that one day they will release a big update that adds a lot of varied content, either in celebration of Christmas or the game's anniversary? That would be great.
i was wondering before i buy the game on itch, if i bought it on itch and it get released on steam do i need to buy it again?
Yeah, this isn't the retail release or a preorder for it. This is just a standalone development release, equivalent to the reward received for subbing to one month of our SubscribeStar :D.
I can't wait for next update. The models are beautiful, their face expressions are gorgeous, the game controls are well configures.
If Semi is in the next update may I propose her entrance before she fight you in the attachment sample sketch? LoL!

Hey there, I have a small question, I recently purchased the Pure Onyx May 2024 version. Is there a way for me to upate it to the June 2024 version? Or do I have to pay another 10 bucks just to be able to play the newer version?. I am not really a fan of subscriptions which is why I've gone down the Itch.io route.
You do have to pay for each iterative version, in the same way that a monthly subscribestar (and formerly patreon) account would give you access to the new build for the same monthly price.
You're essentially paying to support the game's development, not to own the game just yet.
Hi, I want to ask because when I go into the content page. It automatic up to down fast moving from new game to quit. I can't control it. Can you tell me know how to fix this problem.

Hey! Do you have Steam running in the background? Steam's control system sometimes interferes with Unity games, even when the game isn't a Steam game.
Yup, happened to me first time running it. Made the Steam ui to app version. Turned it off ever since.
This a well done hentai game with well made beat em up game play.
Question:
- Are the sprites actual 3D or made to 2D? Can they be rotated?
- I think the bukake is over done till it censors the bits. LoL!
- Do I get to fight Semi? Never ran into her while playing.
They are 3D ^-^. Once it's ready we will add a cinematic mode where you can toggle between animated cameras during H scenes. Semi hasn't been added to gameplay yet, she's just in the gallery at the moment.

Hey :D, these are development releases that parallel our SubscribeStar campaign, so they are standalone purchases. It will be a one-time purchase once it's available for retail / early access.

Hey! We actually removed ultrawide support since it majorly conflicts with the whole side scrolling thing. It should be pillar-boxed, but on some displays we've found there can be issues where this doesn't happen -- we should actually have a fix for that later this month.
Are all enemies planned to have H scenes with Onyx? Like the Dolls for example right now have no H scene with her nor in combat yet, just a scene with thugs in gallery.
Yep :D, we intend for all enemies to either have direct scenes with the player or play supporting roles in them. Just a matter of getting them done. The dolls will appear in background scenes in levels before we have them added to combat.

Game's been in development for 6 years, only around 16 or so enemies done or near finished. Roadmap says it's going for 50 or more enemies plus some other things that aren't implemented yet. Math says it will be a very long time.
We have sculpts done for over 30 new enemies/characters, rigging and low poly done on two thirds of those and combat animations complete or in-progress on over 10.
So long time instead of very. May be a few years still though. We shall see. Unless you have been drip feeding the content for the sake of milking the game. Then it will still be a very long time.
I'm honestly most excited for the skill system. Different ways to punch things is the tits. I haven't been checking the updates for a while now. Any word on that?
We have a new senior combat animator who is very experienced that will be helping with improved combat animations for Onyx + the new skill animations. He's been warming up on Syndicate Girl's move set :D.

The plan is for it to go on Steam leading up to the retail release, yep ^-^. We're currently working on the first Charger scene :D

Can you add a 360 camera view? I know its gonna be a big adjustment but im looking forward to it.

what’s the plans for Onyx’s clothing in the future? Are there going to be lots of options in regards to what she can wear? Hopefully they have more of a cosmetic change also? Like the option for skirts, stockings, dresses, boots, platform heels etc?
We've been working on equipment first, but we're hoping to add costumes as well which override her equipment visuals.
what about making the "hub" a playable area, like her apartment or somthing.
Where you can equip clothing, train, shower/wash, relax, dance hot girl stuff.
Yep it's the plan to make it a map with buildings you can enter :D

Yeah the dev has said that these monthly releases need to be paid for. If buy them, you are basically paying like on of the patreon/subscribestar donors for access.

Ugh, I bought a previous version too, that means I need to wait for the full game before buying it, 8 dollars is a step cost for monthly updates.
